Schedule
Pick up at 8:30 AM from your hotel in Arusha and depart for Lake Manyara National Park with a picnic lunch for a full-day safari drive. As you enter the park, lush forests of Acacia and Mahogany trees set the mood for the adventure ahead. The safari drive will continue till evening with a break for a picnic lunch. Watch for buffaloes, giraffes, impalas, baboons, and blue monkeys during the drive. Keep an eye out for the park's famous tree-climbing lions, though spotting them can be a matter of luck. In the right season, the shoreline turns pink with millions of flamingos. After the game drive, head back to your camp/lodge for a delicious dinner and slumber.
After breakfast, we set off towards Serengeti National Park, passing through the scenic highlands of Karatu and the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. The journey offers breathtaking views of lush farmlands and rolling hills, gradually giving way to the vast plains of the Serengeti. Leaving the highlands behind, we descend into the heart of wild Africa – the Serengeti National Park. The landscape transforms into endless plains that stretch as far as the eye can see, a classic image of the African savanna. We head to the central park area, known as the Seronera area, known for its rich wildlife habitats. Arriving in the Serengeti in time for lunch, we enjoy a meal amidst the stunning surroundings. After lunch, embark on an afternoon safari drive in the Seronera area, teeming with wildlife such as lions, leopards, elephants, zebras, and antelope species.
You have two options for your day in Serengeti National Park. You can enjoy a relaxed breakfast and depart for a full-day game drive at 9:00 AM with a packed lunch, returning around 6:00 PM. Alternatively, you can depart at 6:00 AM for an early morning safari drive, return for breakfast and relaxation, then head out again for an afternoon safari drive with a packed lunch. Also, you'll explore the central Seronera area, known for its rich wildlife habitats and incredible populations of lions and leopards. The Seronera River attracts diverse wildlife representative of most Serengeti species. Even during the off-season of the migration, numerous lion prides offer excellent game viewing year-round. Enjoy a picnic lunch during your full-day safari drive, and conclude your day with a hearty dinner and a restful night at your accommodation, reflecting on the amazing wildlife encounters.
Start your day with a hearty breakfast before embarking on a morning safari drive in Serengeti National Park, where you'll have the best chance to see active wildlife such as lions, leopards, zebras, and giraffes. After the drive, depart for the Ngorongoro Conservation Area with a picnic lunch, enjoying stunning views and learning about the region's geology, history, and ecology from your guide. Ngorongoro Crater, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, hosts around 30,000 animals and is ideal for spotting the Big Five. After a picnic lunch, descend into the crater for an afternoon safari drive to witness its diverse wildlife. As the day ends, ascend from the crater and head to your accommodation within the Ngorongoro Conservation Area for a sumptuous dinner and a restful night.
After an early breakfast, descend to the crater floor for a 5-hour safari drive, where you can expect to see lions, elephants, zebras, hippos, flamingos, jackals, rhinos, antelopes, and many birds. Bird species include eagles, vultures, flamingos in the Crater Lake, storks, bats, sacred ibis, kori bustards, blacksmith plovers, long-necked herons, and cattle eagles. After a picnic lunch at the beautiful Hippo pool, begin a steep ascent to the top exit of the crater. With a 2-hour drive to your accommodation in Karatu, the day will come to a close.
